The Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder completed a three-team trade on July 19, 2026, ESPN reported. The Hawks acquired guards Luguentz Dort and Ryan Nembhard. The Mavericks received forward Zaccharie Risacher.
The Thunder obtained three future second-round picks. The deal formed the final step in a series of salary reductions for Oklahoma City. The Thunder had already traded Aaron Wiggins to the Hawks on June 22 and Isaiah Joe in a separate move.
Together the transactions saved the team more than $300 million in salaries and luxury-tax payments for the upcoming season while keeping the roster below the NBA's second-apron threshold. Dort had started every playoff game for the Thunder over the previous two seasons and ranked third on the team in playoff minutes during that span.
He played at least 69 regular-season games in each of the last five years and missed no playoff contests.
In the 2026 Western Conference finals, however, his minutes dropped to seventh on the roster and the Thunder posted a minus-63 point differential with him on the court. Oklahoma City won the 2024-25 NBA championship and posted the league's best record in the 2025-26 season. The team now holds younger perimeter options, including Cason Wallace, who is expected to assume a larger defensive role.
Dort had one year remaining on his contract at the time of the trade.
