Dame Helen Mirren received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily. The 80-year-old actress attended the event with her husband, director Taylor Hackford. A video of a verbal confrontation from November resurfaced online on May 28.
In the footage, a man called Mirren an "evil Zionist b" while she walked with Hackford in East London. " GB News reported the details of the encounter. Mirren portrayed Israel's first female prime minister Golda Meir in the 2023 film Golda.
