Brent crude futures fell 2.8 percent to close at $95.03 per barrel, and West Texas Intermediate futures dropped 3.1 percent to $93.04 per barrel. Oil prices cooled further in early Asian trading on Friday.
Trump said he would be honored to meet Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei if a deal can be reached. The Wall Street Journal reported that the president was reluctant to resume a full-scale war with Tehran. Bitcoin fell to its lowest level since the Iran war began, briefly dipping below $62,000 before steadying near $63,719.
Broadcom shares tumbled about 15 percent after the company missed revenue expectations, pulling the Nasdaq lower even as other major indexes rose.
