Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray received an Instagram message containing a racial slur after the team's 109-75 loss to the Indiana Fever on Sunday, Usa Today reported. " Fans identified the sender, prompting Hilton Grand Vacations to open an investigation. By Tuesday evening the company terminated the employee for violating its policies.
On Wednesday, July 15, Gray held her first media availability since coming forward. "Enough is kind of enough," she said. "These messages are not the first of its kind. There was other stuff too ... " She added that she hoped "people will think twice now" before spreading hate.
The league had earlier addressed similar online abuse reported by Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas, who received death threats and racial slurs after a June 24 suspension.
