Honda is delaying the next-generation redesign of five vehicle models by as many as four years following losses of $15.7 billion on its electric vehicle business, according to a report. The affected models and their new timelines are the Honda Odyssey, scheduled for 2030; the Honda Accord, also scheduled for 2030; the Honda HR-V, scheduled for 2032; the Acura MDX, scheduled for 2031; and the Acura Integra, scheduled for 2032.

The current Honda Odyssey design was introduced in 2017. The company considered removing the Odyssey from its lineup until the arrival of a hybridized version but decided against that step to avoid losing customers to competitors. Honda is cancelling the Prologue electric vehicle in the United States at the end of this year.

Starting in January 2027 the company will have no new electric vehicles available for sale in the American market.

The company also announced it is leaving the South Korean car market after operating there for 23 years, citing inability to compete effectively. The delays and cancellations come as Honda works to adjust its product plans amid financial pressure from its electric vehicle operations.

The company has not detailed further changes to its lineup or timeline for future electric vehicle introductions in the United States. The decisions affect multiple vehicle segments including minivans, sedans, crossovers and luxury models. Honda has not released updated sales forecasts or production schedules tied to the new redesign dates.
