Hunter Goodman Hits Three Home Runs but Rockies Fall to Reds 9-6
The Colorado Rockies catcher recorded his second three-homer game of the season on July 19. Goodman reached 30 home runs in 101 team games, the fourth-fastest pace in franchise history.

Hunter Goodman hit three home runs for the Colorado Rockies on July 19, 2026, in a 9-6 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Coors Field in Denver. Goodman connected for a solo shot off Hunter Greene in the first inning, a two-run homer off Greene in the sixth and a two-run drive off Sam Moll in the eighth.
The three long balls traveled a combined estimated 1,302 feet and marked his 28th, 29th and 30th home runs of the season.
He had not homered since July 1. The performance made Goodman the first player in Rockies history to post two three-home-run games in one season. He had also hit three home runs at Minnesota on June 27.
No previous Rockies player, including Hall of Famers Todd Helton and Larry Walker or members of the Blake Street Bombers, achieved the feat in a single year. Goodman is now one of four players in franchise history with at least two three-homer games in his career, joining Walker, Helton and Carlos González.
Goodman reached 30 home runs in 101 team games, the fourth-fastest pace in Rockies history behind Vinny Castilla (97 games in 1998), Andrés Galarraga (99 in 1994) and Walker (100 in 1999).
He was not in the lineup the previous day and chose not to swing a bat on July 18. Tyler Stephenson hit two home runs for the Reds. Manager Warren Schaeffer said of Goodman after the game: "He looks dangerous.
