ICE and CBP averaged 1,593 arrests per day in early July
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported 1,593 daily arrests of suspected illegal immigrants during the first 11 days of July. The figure exceeds the previous monthly record set in June.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection averaged 1,593 arrests per day in the first 11 days of July. The daily rate exceeds the previous record of just over 1,300 arrests per day recorded in June. Government data released overnight showed the combined total includes arrests by both agencies.
totals ICE is on track to surpass 50,000 arrests for July, which would exceed the June total of 43,138. The prior monthly record was 42,107 arrests set in December. As of July 11, ICE and CBP had arrested 353,354 suspected illegal immigrants in fiscal 2026, which began in October 2025. More than 90 percent of those arrests were conducted by ICE.
officials Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the department is increasing enforcement activity. “We’re turning up the heat on the streets. We’re out there working harder than we ever have because we’ve empowered our law enforcement to do their job,” Mullin told reporters.
Independent researcher Austin Kocher wrote that the rise in arrests followed leadership changes at the department. Kocher also noted an increase in detainee deaths in ICE custody and recent fatal shootings during encounters.
