President Donald Trump signed an executive order last month directing a 30-day federal review of new AI models before public release.
OpenAI endorsed the bill before its May passage. An Anthropic official stated the law pairs transparency rules with independent verification. Encode AI co-Executive Director Sunny Gandhi said the statute sets a new national standard by requiring audits rather than relying solely on company disclosures.
