Indiana Fever Beat Las Vegas Aces 109-75

The Indiana Fever defeated the Las Vegas Aces 109-75 in Las Vegas on July 12, ESPN reported. The Fever reached 100 points for the eighth time this season and improved to 14-9 while finishing 3-1 on a West Coast road trip. Caitlin Clark played 24 minutes after back issues that flared June 24 caused her to miss two games.

She scored 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and recorded six assists. Clark had returned July 8 for 16 minutes in a loss at Los Angeles and sat out the July 9 game at Phoenix. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 27 points, extending her streak of at least 25 points to six games.

Aliyah Boston added 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Sophie Cunningham scored 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting from three-point range. Indiana shot 56 percent from the field and 48 percent from beyond the arc. The 34-point margin tied the Fever's largest victory over the Aces franchise, previously set in 2003.

Indiana will play four straight home games before the WNBA All-Star break, starting July 15 against Golden State. The Aces entered the game at 17-7 but played their third contest in four days after wins over Portland and Phoenix. A'ja Wilson, back from a leg injury, finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Dana Evans appeared in her first game of the season off the bench, scoring eight points in 18 minutes. Aces coach Becky Hammon said the team lacked energy. Wilson noted the 82-point swing in scoring margin from the prior game was the largest in WNBA history, according to Elias Sports Bureau, and said Las Vegas does not play again until July 20.
