Iran Halts Strikes on Israel After June 8 Announcement
Iran's military command stated it completed strikes on Israel in response to Israeli attacks on Beirut's Dahiyeh district. The June 8 statement warned of stronger retaliation if Israel resumes attacks. President Trump posted that both sides seek an immediate cease-fire and that U.S.-Iran peace talks continue.
Iran's military central command announced on June 8 that it had halted strikes against Israel after delivering what it described as a "painful response" to Israeli strikes on Beirut's Dahiyeh district. The statement from the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that any continuation of Israeli aggression would bring "far more intense and crushing" retaliation.
It framed the halt as the completion of a military operation rather than a formal cease-fire.
-Iran peace deal were proceeding and that a U.S. blockade of Iranian ports would remain in place until an agreement is reached. Iran portrayed the halt as the successful completion of its operation while preserving the credibility of its deterrent threats.
Both sides stated that renewed attacks would trigger stronger responses, even as signs of de-escalation appeared.
