Iran Military Reports Downing US Drone in Southern Iran

Iran’s military stated that its air defence systems intercepted and shot down a US LUCAS drone in southern Iran. The US began using the Low-cost Uncrewed Combat Attack System drones in Iran earlier this year, @AJEnglish reported. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 reached 4,328, with 12,229 wounded.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam spoke with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan. Salam condemned Iranian strikes on Kuwait and Jordan, stating they “constitute a blatant violation of the security and territorial integrity of Kuwait and Jordan and a direct threat to the security of the Arab region”.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun arrived at the US State Department in Washington, DC for a meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Aoun is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump on Tuesday. It is the first visit to Washington by a Lebanese president since 2009. The meetings are expected to focus on strengthening the ceasefire, securing Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon, and restoring security and stability across Lebanon.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan each held separate meetings with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha. The talks covered regional developments, efforts to resurrect diplomacy, coordinate de-escalation, and enhance security.

IRGC Brigadier-General Yadollah Javani stated that Iran has delivered “heavy blows to American bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and other nations” and that “this seriousness will continue”.

Javani added that the Americans are trying to compensate for their defeat in this war through military actions and return the Strait of Hormuz to its pre-war conditions, but they will not succeed. Iranian officials stated that a railway station, bridges, water facilities, food silos, and other civilian infrastructure have been attacked.
