Iran Negotiator Says US MoU Implementation Difficult but Possible, Stresses No Peace with Washington

Iran's top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said implementation of a recently signed memorandum of understanding with the United States is difficult but possible. He made the comments during meetings in Tehran with Muhammad Fneish, a senior Hezbollah official, and Mohammad Darwish, head of Hamas's leadership council, both of whom traveled to Iran for former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's funeral ceremonies.

Ghalibaf stated that Tehran had placed Lebanon at the center of the negotiations leading to the MoU.

He said Iran had emphasized Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty and had insisted that the cessation of war against Iran's allies in resistance groups be included in the text. Ghalibaf added that Iran has no peace with the United States and will not recognize Israel.

He praised Hezbollah's fight against Israel during the US-Israeli war as a turning point in history that demonstrated the unbreakable bond between Iran and groups in the axis of resistance.

Ghalibaf said Iran would continue supporting Muslims and the axis of resistance under Khamenei's guidelines, using missiles if needed or political pressure through negotiations. At least four Palestinians were killed and 16 wounded when an Israeli drone struck a vehicle along al-Rashid coastal road in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis governorate in southern Gaza, according to medical sources at Nasser Hospital and al-Hilal Hospital.

Lebanese authorities reported that Israeli forces triggered an explosion overnight in the town of Hula in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon.
