Iran said it will soon announce a plan to manage traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and collect fees from vessels using the route. Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said on Saturday that the country will no longer allow enemy military equipment to pass through the strait.

Iranian legislator Ebrahim Azizi described the plan as a professional mechanism that will benefit only commercial vessels and parties cooperating with Iran.

Iranian state television reported that European countries have begun negotiations with the Revolutionary Guard’s navy over transit for ships through the strait. Israeli warplanes carried out air strikes on the town of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah in southern Lebanon. Israel’s military said one of its soldiers was killed in combat in southern Lebanon, bringing its losses to 21 personnel since the war with Hezbollah escalated on March 2.

Israel attacked 100 sites in southern Lebanon over two days after the two countries agreed to extend a ceasefire for an additional 45 days.
