Iranian drones struck Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, killing one person and damaging the passenger terminal, according to Kuwait's Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry. Kuwait briefly closed the facility before partially reopening it later in the day with flights operating from an undamaged terminal. State media reported that Kuwait Airways suspended operations at the main building.

Cross-border strikes continue The U.S. military said it intercepted multiple Iranian drones and missiles aimed at American forces in Kuwait and Bahrain. Bahrain's Defense Ministry confirmed it destroyed three missiles and several drones. In response, U.S. forces struck an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard acknowledged targeting the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet and other facilities, stating the action was retaliation for the Qeshm strike. Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the U.S. attack on Qeshm Island, where a telecommunications tower was hit, calling the strikes violations of the ceasefire.

Ceasefire talks stall Semiofficial Iranian news agencies reported that negotiators have stopped communicating with mediators. A regional official involved in the talks told The Associated Press that Iran had not communicated on Tuesday after demanding enforcement of a separate truce in Lebanon.

" — President Donald Trump, June 3, 2026 (social media post) President Donald Trump called reports of a halt in talks "false and erroneous" and urged Iran to reach a deal.
