Iranian state media said the country's navy fired warning shots at two U.S. destroyers in the Gulf of Oman, prompting the vessels to move toward the Indian Ocean. The reports stated that Qadir missiles and Shahid Danaye drones were fired at the ships identified as USS DDG-103 and DDG-87. Iranian state media also said the USS Tripoli amphibious assault ship was forced to leave the area.

The same accounts warned that longer-range missiles would be used if U.S. ships return to the region. No injuries or damage were reported in the accounts.

The U.S. has not confirmed the incident.
