The discussion covered maritime navigation, the safety of strategic waterways, and the stability of global energy and supply chains. Qatar’s foreign ministry said both sides reaffirmed support for continued dialogue and peaceful solutions.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre received multiple reports of suspicious activity in the Gulf of Aden. Vessels were advised to transit the area with caution after reports described skiffs carrying ladders and weapons.
Iran sentenced two women to a combined 53 years in prison for alleged links to Israel, according to the IRNA news agency. Humanitarian aid shipments from Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan arrived in Iran this week through official land routes. Iraq contributed nine trucks carrying roughly 180 tonnes of food and medical supplies, while Uzbekistan sent 15 trucks with about 300 tonnes of medicines and consumer medical items.
