Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Tent Kills Two, Wounds 17

An Israeli airstrike hit a tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Monday, killing two people and wounding 17 others, Palestinian health officials said. Medics identified the dead as six-year-old Mennatallah Abu Libda and 31-year-old Hanan Mahmoud.

Both were inside a tent encampment housing displaced families at the time of the strike. Witnesses said two helicopters carried out the attack. The Israeli military told Reuters it had struck militants in the area but gave no further details.

An October ceasefire brokered by U.S.

President Donald Trump has not stopped Israeli strikes in Gaza. Israel and Hamas remain deadlocked over the second phase of the agreement, which covers disarmament and Israeli withdrawals. The truce left Israel in control of more than half of Gaza, with Hamas holding a coastal sliver.

Gaza health officials report that about 900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire began; the Israeli military says four of its soldiers have been killed by militants in the same period.
