Israeli drone strike kills two Palestinians in Khan Younis; military says it targeted Hamas militant

An Israeli drone strike hit two makeshift tents in Khan Younis on June 27, killing 15-year-old Islam Moussa and her 30-year-old brother Abdullah Moussa. Medical sources in Gaza reported at least four other people wounded in the attack. Gaza civil defence teams recovered seven injured people from an Israeli strike on tents in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.

The wounded were taken to Nasser Hospital and the Red Cross Hospital. A 10-year-old boy, Walid Youssef Abu Jazar, died at Nasser Hospital from wounds sustained days earlier in an Israeli strike on al-Mawasi. In western Gaza City, an Israeli strike on a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians wounded at least 12 people, two of them critically, according to al-Shifa Hospital and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society ambulance service.

Most of those wounded were women. @AJEnglish reported that the Israeli military struck the Muwasi area, saying it targeted a Hamas militant. The same report noted continued Israeli attacks on tent camps despite the October 2025 ceasefire that designated parts of southern Gaza as safe zones.

Gaza’s Health Ministry stated that Israel’s war has killed at least 73,043 Palestinians and wounded 173,417 others since October 2023. A United Nations report found that children made up about 30 percent of those killed in Gaza since October 2023.
