Israeli forces wounded three Palestinians with rubber-coated metal bullets in the village of Umm Safa northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. Local sources told the Wafa news agency that Israeli settlers had entered the outskirts of the village on Saturday and taken four sheep.
Residents confronted the settlers, after which Israeli forces arrived and fired the bullets. Marwan Sabbah, head of the Umm Safa village council, said the sequence began with the theft of the sheep and ended with the shooting that injured three people.
The Wafa news agency reported that at least 1,179 Palestinians have been killed and more than 12,532 wounded in attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied West Bank since October 2023. The agency attributed the figures to incidents involving both forces and settlers across the territory.
Israeli settlers attacked a Bedouin community south of Yatta in the Hebron Governorate, according to the Wafa news agency. The agency said settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, assaulted a local family and sprayed pepper spray that caused bruises and suffocation. The same agency reported the Umm Safa incident within the same period.
