Israeli Strike on Tent West of Gaza City Kills One, Wounds Others

An Israeli strike targeted a tent west of Gaza City, killing one person and wounding others, according to Al Jazeera correspondents on the ground. A separate strike earlier in the day hit the entrance to al-Sumoud camp for displaced people west of Khan Younis, killing one person.

An Israeli drone attack on a group of Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis killed one person and injured others. Attacks on tents sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, which Israel designated a humanitarian zone, occurred multiple times during the week.

Lebanese ambassadors are scheduled to hold direct talks in Rome on July 15 and 16, Italy’s Foreign Ministry said. The talks will be the sixth round in recent months and follow a framework agreement signed last month aimed at lasting peace. Funeral prayers for Iran’s slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and members of his family were held in Qom on July 7.
