Jaguars, Tight End Agree to Three-Year Extension Worth Up to $48 Million
The Jacksonville Jaguars and tight end Brenton Strange reached a three-year contract extension worth up to $48 million, including $25 million guaranteed. Strange had been entering the final year of his rookie deal after posting career highs last season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and tight end Brenton Strange agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $48 million with $25 million guaranteed. Agents Jim Ivler, JR Roggio and Jon Perzley of Sportstars confirmed the terms to ESPN and NFL Network. Strange, 25, was entering the final year of his rookie contract.
Strange, a second-round pick in 2023, set career bests last season with 46 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games. He missed five games with a hip injury. The Jaguars posted an 11-1 record and averaged 30.1 points per game in the contests he played. They went 2-3 and averaged 22.6 points per game in the games he missed.
General manager James Gladstone said after the 2025 season that the team had begun preliminary extension talks with Strange and receiver Parker Washington. Over three seasons, Strange has recorded 91 catches for 981 yards and six touchdowns.
