Jake Paul Says He Learned Lesson After Loss to Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul said he learned his lesson after Anthony Joshua stopped him in six rounds last December. Paul, 29, has not fought since the bout in Miami and has focused on recovering from a broken jaw. Paul said he expects medical clearance to spar within the next couple of weeks. He added that he plans to resume fighting and may pursue mixed martial arts bouts.

Paul said his jaw is healing stronger and that he will avoid certain matchups going forward. He stated he is in talks with multiple opponents and is determining a return date. Paul also said he wants to pursue an MMA fight against Nate Diaz, which he said has been under discussion for a long time and could occur within the next year or two.

Joshua is scheduled to fight Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on 25 July. The bout will be Joshua's first since facing Paul and his first since surviving a car crash in December that killed two of his teammates. A long-awaited fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury remains without a date but could take place at Wembley Stadium in November if it begins at 2 a.m. BST on a Sunday.
