Japan defeated Iceland 1-0 in a friendly match at National Stadium in Tokyo on Sunday. Koki Ogawa scored the only goal with a header in the 86th minute from a cross by Yukinari Sugawara. Iceland, ranked 75th in the world and not qualified for the World Cup, stayed in its own half for most of the match and defended against Japan's attacks.
