Jaron Ennis defeated Xander Zayas by seventh-round TKO on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Referee Harvey Dock stopped the fight at 1:47 after a barrage of punches sent Zayas to a knee. Ennis improved his record to 36-0 with 32 knockouts.
Zayas fell to 23-1 with 13 knockouts. The victory gave Ennis the WBA and WBO super welterweight titles in his second weight class. Ennis knocked Zayas down in the first round with a left hand, the fifth round with a right uppercut, and the seventh round.
Zayas rose after the first two knockdowns but could not continue after the third. Zayas hurt Ennis with a one-two combination in the third round. Ennis, 29, made his junior middleweight debut in October 2025.
Zayas, 23, had won the WBO title in July 2025 and the WBA title in January 2026. "I wasn't worried about nothing that Xander had," Ennis said after the fight. " The bout aired on a DAZN pay-per-view card.
