The New York Jets traded special teams player Irv Charles to the Seattle Seahawks for a conditional 2028 seventh-round draft pick, a source confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday. Charles, 29, had been recovering from ACL surgery that caused him to miss the entire 2025 season. He suffered the knee injury in Week 14 of the 2024 season against the Miami Dolphins.
Charles made the Jets roster as an undrafted free agent wide receiver in 2023 after attending Penn State. He appeared in 25 games over the 2023 and 2024 seasons, recording 14 tackles on special teams while seeing limited offensive action. The Seahawks ranked first in special teams performance last season according to ESPN Analytics.
