Joe Lauzon Signs with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship After UFC Exit
The 42-year-old Massachusetts fighter is set to compete at BKFC 92 on Aug. 29 at Fenway Park. Lauzon ended a 27-fight UFC run that began in 2006.

Joe Lauzon has signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship after nearly two decades in the UFC, yardbarker.com reported. The 42-year-old Massachusetts native is expected to appear at BKFC 92 on Aug. 29 at Fenway Park in Boston.
Lauzon debuted in the UFC at event 63 in 2006, knocking out Jens Pulver in 48 seconds. He earned 15 post-fight bonuses during his career, including a double-bonus night for submitting Jamie Varner in 2012. His final Octagon bout came in 2019 when he stopped Jonathan Pearce in 93 seconds.
A planned 2022 fight against Donald Cerrone was canceled twice. After the Pearce victory, Lauzon said he was prepared to retire unless the right opportunity arose. He remained in the UFC's drug-testing pool afterward.
BKFC 92 will feature featherweight champion Kai Stewart defending his title against Harry Gigliotti in the main event. The card marks the promotion's first event at a Major League Baseball stadium. Lauzon left the UFC after his contract lapsed or ended in a release.
