Joni Lamb, Daystar Television Network President, Dies at 65

Joni Lamb, president of the Daystar Television Network, died on Thursday at the age of 65. The network said she had been suffering from serious health issues before sustaining a back injury that caused her health to deteriorate. A cause of death was not released.

” The network added that its ministry will continue and that Lamb had ensured a leadership team was in place. Lamb and her late husband began broadcasting in the Dallas area with a single station in 1993. Five years later she began hosting her signature daily women’s show.

The network, based in Bedford, Texas, grew to broadcast in more than 200 countries and reaches 2.3 billion homes worldwide.

Network has aired shows from many well-known evangelists. Its ministry was rooted in Pentecostalism, a Christian tradition known for spirit-filled worship and belief in modern-day miracles. Lamb hosted “Joni Table Talk,” discussing daily issues on the air in addition to her role as president.

In 2010 she stood beside her late husband when he admitted on television to an affair with a woman years earlier. The couple said they had healed their marriage and hoped to keep the matter private. “All you can do is tell the truth and take your pain and use it to try to help someone else,” Lamb said at the time.

Following her first husband’s death at age 64, she married two years later.
