Emily Baldoni, 41, stated that the moment felt right to speak and expressed immense gratitude for supporters. The couple described gratitude as having saved them while acknowledging injustice, pain, and family trauma from the prior years. Justin Baldoni said painful statements created noise they avoided, and Emily Baldoni added that truth and facts had spoken for themselves.
The legal battle originated when Blake Lively, 38, filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni in late 2023. She accused him of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment, and attempting to damage her reputation. Justin Baldoni filed a defamation suit that a judge dismissed.
Attorneys for both parties announced an out-of-court settlement in early May 2026, two weeks before the scheduled trial. A judge had ruled earlier that month to dismiss the majority of Lively’s claims. Neither party received money in the settlement, though their legal teams combined received $60 million in fees.
In a joint statement after the settlement, Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively said the movie “It Ends With Us” remained a source of pride and expressed hope for closure and constructive forward movement.
