Kalshi Gave Trump Jr. $300,000 in Shares After He Joined as Adviser

Prediction market Kalshi transferred about $300,000 worth of shares to Donald Trump Jr. after he became a strategic adviser early last year. The transfer occurred when the company was valued below $2 billion, the Financial Times reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Jr.'s stake is expected to rise in value as Kalshi discusses raising funds at a valuation of about $40 billion, possibly in the third quarter of this year. His shares have already been diluted as the company grew, making the current value difficult to determine. Kalshi declined to comment, and Trump Jr. did not respond to inquiries.
Jr. joined Kalshi's advisory board two months after his father returned to the White House. He also joined Polymarket's advisory board last August. The appointment coincided with an investment in Kalshi by 1789 Capital, the firm where Trump Jr. is a partner.
Kalshi has faced lighter regulatory scrutiny under agencies now led by Trump appointees. Before the election, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission sought to block event contracts tied to congressional races. Kalshi won a court case shortly before Election Day, and the CFTC dropped its appeal in May 2025.
The CFTC and the Department of Justice also closed an investigation into Polymarket in summer 2025. Kalshi and Polymarket allow users to wager on binary outcomes ranging from weather events to sports results.
