Hanwha Eagles designated hitter Kang Baek-ho was voted South Korean baseball's best player for May. The Korea Baseball Organization announced the award on June 8, 2026. 29 points.

Kia Tigers starter Hwang Dong-ha finished second with 17 points from six media votes and 76,373 fan votes. Kang Baek-ho hit a solo home run against the Kiwoom Heroes at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on May 12, 2026. 783 slugging percentage, hit eight home runs, drove in 30 runs and scored 21 runs in 23 games.

He led the KBO in RBIs and slugging percentage for the month and ranked second in home runs, batting average, hits and on-base percentage. For the season he has 61 RBIs, 12 more than Austin Dean of the LG Twins. This is Kang Baek-ho's first Player of the Month honor in his nine-year career.

The last Hanwha Eagles hitter to receive the award was Roh Si-hwan in July 2023. Kang Baek-ho will receive 3 million won, equal to US$1,955. Shinhan Bank will donate 2 million won to Isu Middle School in Seoul, his alma mater, in his name.
