Kentucky Republican Files Petition for Epstein Files Release

A Kentucky congressman told Tucker Carlson that a Colorado colleague was pressured in the Situation Room to withdraw support from a discharge petition seeking release of the Epstein files. After she refused, the president vetoed a bipartisan water infrastructure bill for her district, according to the lawmaker.

Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie said President Donald Trump retaliated against Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert after she declined to remove her name from a discharge petition that would have forced a House vote on releasing the Epstein files.

Massie made the allegation during an interview with Tucker Carlson that aired Wednesday. He said Boebert was one of only four Republicans who joined 214 Democrats on the petition. Boebert was taken into the Situation Room and urged to drop her support, Massie stated.

The bipartisan measure would have completed a 130-mile pipeline to deliver clean water to tens of thousands of residents in southeast Colorado. "They took her into the Situation Room and tried to whip her into taking her name off of the discharge petition over Epstein," Massie said.

" >"They took her into the Situation Room and tried to whip her into taking her name off of the discharge petition over Epstein. " — Rep. Thomas Massie, May 7 2026 (Daily Caller) The vetoed bill is one of just two measures the president has vetoed during the current term.

Trump previously stated he vetoed the project in December because costs had grown too high and local users had not repaid their share as originally planned. Congress had provided additional funding in 2009, yet construction had not advanced. "Enough is enough," Trump said at the time.

"My Administration is committed to preventing American taxpayers from funding expensive and unreliable policies. " Massie questioned why Colorado residents were being deprived of water because their representative sought to expose what he described as a sex trafficking ring.

The president has repeatedly called the Epstein files a "Democrat hoax" but ultimately signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law after it passed both chambers with overwhelming support.

In a separate Kentucky congressional race, the president endorsed Rep. Andy Barr after asking a MAGA-aligned businessperson to step aside, according to Politico. The move reshuffled the contest, which also features outside spending from a foreign lobby seeking to unseat another Republican lawmaker who has opposed additional foreign aid.

Rep. Thomas Massie stated that AIPAC has spent more on the Kentucky primary than in any previous Republican race, with casino billionaire Miriam Adelson contributing funds to his opponent Ed Gallrein. Massie leads in polls with 13 days remaining until the vote.

He said the effort stems from his opposition to more war, bombs and foreign aid.

A long-time aide to Democratic Rep.

Danny Davis was indicted on charges of claiming unemployment benefits during the coronavirus pandemic while continuing to work for Congress, the Washington Times reported. Separately, Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal said she is working with foreign diplomats to help Cuba bypass a U.S. oil embargo.

She noted that since Maduro was removed, only one Russian tanker has gotten past the de facto restrictions, supplying 10 to 14 days of fuel. , is among 18 lawmakers backing legislation that would cut off funding for the war in Iran, according to an NPR interview.

Bezos’ family office stepped down from the board of Slate Auto in recent months, state filings show. The departure coincides with Bezos focusing on his robotics startup Project Prometheus, which raised more than $6 billion late last year.
