The Kibera High Court on 26 June 2026 ordered members of the media excluded from virtual proceedings in the Utumishi Girls murder case. Proceedings in the case are being conducted virtually. The eight suspects facing murder charges are following the session from police custody and have not been physically produced in open court.
They are held at the Kabete Juvenile Remand Home. During the virtual session lawyers for the accused and the prosecution argued over whether the suspects should undergo mental assessment examinations before the case proceeds.
