Jürgen Klopp’s agent dismissed reports that the former Liverpool manager would take the head-coaching job at Real Madrid if a rival candidate wins the club’s presidential election on Sunday. Marc Kosicke released a statement saying Klopp is content in his current role as Red Bull’s head of global football and has no intention of returning to the sideline.

Riquelme’s comments The candidate, Enrique Riquelme, had said he would contact Klopp on Monday June 8 to offer him the position if members vote for him. Riquelme’s office stated that the scale of Real Madrid would set it apart from other clubs that had already approached Klopp.

Other election pledges Riquelme also said he would pursue Manchester City players Erling Haaland and Rodri if elected. Manchester City responded by threatening legal action after Riquelme displayed a Real Madrid shirt bearing Haaland’s name. The incumbent president has said José Mourinho would return as manager if re-elected and that the club would bid £130 million for Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.
