LA28 Chair Casey Wasserman’s Daughter Selected to Compete for Israel in 2028 Olympic Show Jumping

Casey Wasserman, chair of the Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee LA28, has a daughter training to represent Israel at the 2028 Games. Stella Wasserman, 21, is preparing for the show jumping competition on the Israeli equestrian team, according to a profile in World of Show Jumping.

Instagram accounts belonging to Stella and her mother, Laura Ziffren Wasserman, posted messages celebrating the plans.

Casey Wasserman traveled to Israel in December and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He stated that the safety of athletes, particularly Israeli athletes, was his “number one concern,” a remark reported by Algemeiner. The International Olympic Committee requires that athletes hold nationality in the country they represent.

Miguel Camnitzer, an organizer with Jewish Voice for Peace Los Angeles, said the arrangement creates a conflict. “If you’re claiming that this thing that you’re promoting so heavily is going to bring all these benefits to Los Angeles, but you’re also promoting the interests of a foreign genocidal state — and on top of that your daughter is representing that state in the Games — that’s a conflict,” he said.

Stella Wasserman owns at least four competition horses, according to the Chronicle of the Horse.

Russian teams were barred from the 2026 Winter Olympics after the invasion of Ukraine, while Israel has faced no comparable sanction. Casey Wasserman is the grandson of Hollywood executive Lew Wasserman. He previously chaired the host committee for the 2022 Super Bowl in Los Angeles, where his client Kendrick Lamar performed at halftime.

His talent agency changed its name to The Team in March and he announced plans to sell the firm. The Intercept reported that the release of Epstein files earlier this year included graphic sexual emails between Casey Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell. He had earlier flown with Bill Clinton on Epstein’s jet for a humanitarian mission to Africa.
