The Los Angeles Lakers acquired center Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz in a sign-and-trade earlier this month. Kessler also signed a four-year, $130 million contract with the team. Kessler and Abbie Stockard, who was Miss America 2025, announced their engagement during Fourth of July weekend.
Stockard posted a photo of the couple displaying her ring with the caption, "The future Kessler's. " It is not known whether the balloons were provided by the team or purchased by the couple. Kessler averaged 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game last season.
The team lost LeBron James to retirement and saw another player depart in free agency earlier this week.
