Rich Paul said July 11 he does not yet know where LeBron James will play next season. " James, an unrestricted free agent at age 41, informed the Los Angeles Lakers on June 30 that he would not re-sign, ending his eight-season tenure with the team. Paul said James wants an opportunity to compete at a high level in late April and early May.
"No roster, no organization is guaranteed to win a championship," Paul said. "You do want to have an opportunity come late April and early May, to compete at a high level and give yourself the best chance of winning. " Paul added that James has four championships and is not chasing a ghost.
He said James will make the best decision for himself. James won a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and another with the Lakers in 2020.
