Leclerc Wins British Grand Prix for First Victory Since 2024

Charles Leclerc won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday, securing his first Formula One victory since October 2024. The Monegasque driver said he had worked to ignore outside criticism after a series of incidents earlier in the season. He noted crashes in Monaco and Spain that drew scrutiny and left him feeling ashamed.

Leclerc described the period after those incidents as difficult, with negative commentary surrounding his performance. He said he avoided looking at his phone and focused only on information he considered relevant. The win came on a fast track where he said regaining confidence with the car was essential. He credited the team for adjustments that restored the handling he had earlier in the year.

Ferrari recorded its second victory in three races.

Leclerc said the result showed the team had addressed the issues that caused his earlier struggles. "It means a lot because when things get tough, and that's literally the situation I've been in the last few races, obviously there's a lot of negativity around me in general with narratives being created," Leclerc said after the race.

He added that drivers can shift quickly between praise and criticism in the sport, and that his focus remained on finding the right setup rather than external commentary.
