Macklin Celebrini Named Cover Athlete for NHL 27

San Jose Sharks center Macklin Celebrini will appear on the cover of EA Sports' NHL 27. The game is scheduled for release later this year. Celebrini, 20, becomes the youngest cover athlete in the history of the NHL series. EA Sports stated that previous cover athletes were older at the time of selection.

The standard edition shows Celebrini in a white Sharks road jersey.

The deluxe edition shows him in a teal Sharks home jersey. Celebrini said the selection process was straightforward. He told ESPN the images were sent to him and he approved them.

Celebrini recorded 115 points, including 45 goals, during the 2025-26 season. Those totals set San Jose franchise records. He finished fourth in voting for the Hart Trophy and was a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award. Last week he was named IIHF Male Player of the Year for 2025-26.

Celebrini scored five goals and added five assists in six games at the Olympics. Canada won the silver medal after losing to the United States in the final.
