Madonna Discusses New Album and Career in BBC Interview

Madonna discussed her forthcoming album Confessions II during an interview with Graham Norton at Camden's Koko nightclub. The singer said the album continues her focus on dance music while addressing personal subjects. One track, Fragile, concerns her brother Christopher, who died of cancer in 2024.

Madonna suggested she may headline Glastonbury in 2027.

She told Norton she plans smaller promotional tours before a larger summer show, and responded to his question about a UK performance with a grin but no confirmation.

Minogue appeared during the interview and recalled Madonna wearing a "Kylie Minogue" tank top at the 1999 MTV Europe Music Awards. Madonna said she had been jealous of Minogue because her then-husband Guy Ritchie had a crush on the Australian singer.

Leon contributed to one song on the album after approaching her mother about collaborating. Madonna said her daughter had been reluctant to work together due to concerns about being seen as benefiting from family connections.

Price said one track, One Step Away, was recorded spontaneously when Madonna asked for the microphone to be turned on at the end of a session. Madonna described the vocal as emerging in a single stream of consciousness.

Madonna recalled feeling out of place at the New York club Danceteria before her first single was played there. She said she created her early style from limited resources, including fishnet gloves made from tights.
