Marina Mabrey Scores Career-High 37 Points as Toronto Tempo Rally Past Connecticut Sun

Marina Mabrey scored a career-high 37 points and tied the WNBA single-game record with nine three-pointers as the Toronto Tempo defeated the Connecticut Sun 101-97 on June 19 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Mabrey made nine of 12 three-point attempts and scored 21 of her points in the fourth quarter. She also recorded four rebounds and four assists.

Temi Fagbenle shot eight of nine from the field for 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Maria Conde scored 19 points and secured six rebounds off the bench. The Sun led 50-37 at halftime. Toronto outscored Connecticut 64-47 in the second half to overcome a 16-point deficit and secure the victory.

Kennedy Burke scored 18 points off the bench for the Sun. Leila Lacan and Brittney Griner each scored 16 points, while Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 13. The win ended Toronto's three-game losing streak. Connecticut has now lost seven consecutive games.

The Toronto Tempo visit the Atlanta Dream on Monday, June 22. The Connecticut Sun host the Chicago Sky on the same day.
