Rodriguez was struck in the back of the helmet by a throw from Los Angeles Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel during Thursday's game. The injury occurred in the first inning while Rodriguez ran from first to second on a ground ball.
He advanced to third base after the ball bounced into the outfield but was removed from the game in the third inning. Mariners manager Dan Wilson addressed the decision Friday. "With head injuries, you have to be so careful," Wilson said.
