Mark Epstein Told Assistant to Leave Manhattan Apartment Week After Jeffrey Epstein's 2019 Death

In the week after Jeffrey Epstein died in 2019, his brother Mark told Anya she had to leave the East 66th Street apartment in Manhattan where she had lived for years, BBC News reported. Anya, whose real name is withheld, said she had been one of roughly a dozen assistants housed, controlled, and sexually abused by Epstein.
Anya grew up in Russia and worked as a model for Fendi and Chanel in Europe.
She met modelling scout Daniel Siad at a Paris agency. Siad introduced her to Epstein at his 18-room Paris apartment near the Arc de Triomphe. Epstein told her she was out of shape and needed to exercise, BBC News reported.
Over nearly a year she trained daily while Lesley Groff emailed for progress updates. Epstein arranged a meeting with Faith Kates, co-founder of Next Management. The session lasted less than 30 minutes.
Epstein later said the agency had rejected her. Emails released by the U.S. government in January showed Kates had already turned her down a year earlier. Epstein then sent Anya to Palm Beach, where she signed a register with a police officer and was sexually assaulted for the first time.
Epstein introduced Anya to Jean-Luc Brunel of MC2 without disclosing he was a financial backer. MC2 later closed its Miami and New York offices. Assistants had to recruit at least one other woman each.
Epstein monitored calls, controlled finances, and showed Anya an email calculating that a missing assistant owed him $700,000. Epstein gathered assistants for a topless photoshoot he filmed and forced Anya to undergo unnecessary surgery to remove a tattoo, performed at his house. A year later he required the procedure again.
