Matt Boldy Hits Shot from Grandstands onto Green at Tahoe Celebrity Event

Matt Boldy hit his ball from deep in the grandstands rather than taking a drop during the second round of the American Century Championship 2026 on Saturday at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. The shot cleared the railing and bounced onto the green, drawing loud reactions from the crowd with fans jumping and exchanging high-fives.

Boldy had earlier used his 2026 Milan Cortina Olympic gold medal as a ball marker during the tournament.

After Round 2, Boldy was tied for 13th place with 27 points under the modified Stableford scoring system, matching actor Alfonso Ribeiro. Joe Pavelski sat in second with 48 points, while Mardy Fish led with 52 points. Annika Sorenstam held third place.

Matthew Tkachuk was tied for 22nd with 22 points. T.J. Oshie stood tied for 25th at 20 points, and Brady Tkachuk was tied for 55th at minus-7 points. Charles Barkley finished the round at minus-20 points in a field of 90 players.

Players earn six points for an eagle, three for a birdie, one for par, zero for a bogey, and lose two points for anything worse than a double bogey.
