Conor McGregor will undergo knee surgery after injuring his knee during his UFC 329 fight with Max Holloway last week, which fulfilled the final bout on his contract. The bout ended McGregor's five-year hiatus from competition. UFC CEO Dana White told MMA Fighting he will not address any return date until McGregor finishes physical therapy.
Until that time, it's not even worth talking about," White said. White added that McGregor faces a standard recovery sequence known throughout the sport. "He is absolutely getting knee surgery, and everybody in this sport knows the timeline and how that all plays out.
So any Conor McGregor questions or rematch questions don't even make sense," he said. McGregor has one bout remaining on his UFC contract, originally planned for April. He had sought a trilogy fight with Holloway to fulfill the deal.
No surgery date or recovery timeline has been announced.
