nypost.comThe New York Mets are placing right-hander Christian Scott on the injured list with a hip injury, the team confirmed Monday. The hip issue is not deemed serious, according to The Post’s Jon Heyman. The Athletic first reported that Scott was headed to the IL.
10 ERA across nine starts this season. He missed last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The decision removes one of the rotation’s stronger arms at a time when several other starters are already unavailable or struggling.
Kodai Senga has been sidelined since late April and is considered a possible near-term return. Freddy Peralta and Nolan McLean have formed part of the current top three with Scott. Sean Manaea has recently shown improvement after an uneven start to the season, while David Peterson has scuffled in recent appearances.
