MG unveils Go! concept for compact electric hatchback due in 2027
MG presented the Go! concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The vehicle previews a production model planned for 2027 and draws design cues from classic MG models while remaining a modern electric car.

MG introduced the Go! concept vehicle at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The company described the car as a compact B-segment battery electric hatchback that previews a production model scheduled for 2027. The concept is intended to sit below the MG4 Urban and compete with small electric cars such as the Renault 5 and Citroën ë-C3.
MG has not released details on battery size, range, price or performance.
Design approach MG stated that the design mixes modern electric-vehicle elements with references to earlier models, particularly the MGB GT. Additional nods appear to the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR and MG EX4. The company said the vehicle was developed entirely by its London design team and is meant to be compact, contemporary and emotionally appealing rather than a nostalgic show car.
Market context MG said the Go! ” The design language is described as simple and built around a small number of key elements intended to echo classic MG clarity without overdoing retro styling. The concept is one of two new MG show cars at Goodwood; the other is the larger MG Cyber Concept.
MG also displayed several current and upcoming models including the MGS9 PHEV, MG4 EV Urban, MG HS Plug-in Hybrid, MG ZS Hybrid+, MG IM5 and MG Cyberster. MG operated a Future Motion Show on its stand demonstrating work in AI, intelligent driving, connectivity, sensors, cameras and LiDAR.
