Miami, NC State and North Carolina Lead ACC Programs in Roster Changes With Departures and New Transfers

Miami, NC State and North Carolina experienced the largest roster turnover among ACC programs, losing multiple scorers while adding transfers and freshmen ahead of the 2026-27 season. Miami lost its top three scorers from last season. Malik Reneau averaged 18.9 points, Tre Donaldson 16.4 points and Tru Washington 11.9 points.

Nine additional players either left or are expected to depart, including Ernest Udeh Jr. at 6.7 points per game. Marcus Allen, who averaged 5.3 points, remains in limbo. The Hurricanes added six transfers led by DeSean Goode, who averaged 15.2 points at Robert Morris.

Brent Bland (13.9 PPG at Saint Peter's), Acaden Lewis (12.2 PPG at Villanova), Somtochukwu Cyril (9.3 PPG at Georgia), Nick Dorn (8.1 PPG at Indiana) and Quin Berger (3.1 PPG at Bucknell) also joined. Freshmen Caleb Gaskins (No. 12 in SC Next 100), Chris Birden and Egor Ryzhov round out the incoming class.

Shelton Henderson (13.8 PPG) and Dante Allen (6.6 PPG) are expected to return. Pat Kelsey and Jai Lucas serve as the program's coaches. NC State lost 13 players who either departed or redshirted, including Darrion Williams (14.0 PPG), Quadir Copeland (13.9 PPG) and Ven-Allen Lubin (13.6 PPG).

Matt Able, who averaged 8.8 points, transferred to North Carolina. Paul McNeil Jr. (13.8 PPG) and redshirt Zymicah Wilkins are expected to return. The Wolfpack added nine transfers, headlined by Preston Edmead (16.1 PPG at Hofstra) and Christian Hammond (15.6 PPG at Santa Clara).

Kyle Evans (12.1 PPG at UC Irvine), Darius Adams (10.8 PPG at Maryland), Eemeli Yalaho (10.1 PPG at Washington State), Comeh Emuobor (9.0 PPG at New Hampshire), RJ Keene II (2.6 PPG at Boise State), Jacari Brim (1.2 PPG at Appalachian State) and JUCO player Shah Hall complete the group.
