Microsoft has created a special edition Xbox Series X to celebrate 25 years of the console. The Xbox 25th anniversary console and controller feature a translucent green design. The design draws inspiration from the original Xbox and OG Green.

Jason Ronald, VP of next generation at Microsoft, said the translucent design marks the first time the company has applied that treatment to an Xbox Series X. The console includes 1 TB of storage. The X on the front lights up green when powered on, and a 25th anniversary logo appears at the front.

The matching controller uses the original ABXY colors. Its bumpers reference the black and white buttons on the Duke controller. The back case and battery door are fully transparent, revealing the classic XBOX logo.

Both the console and controller will be available in November 2026. Microsoft has not announced an exact release date or pricing. The Verge reported the announcement on June 7, 2026, at 5:45 PM UTC.
