He began his Seahawks career as an intern in 2013 and was promoted to assistant general manager in 2023.
Rob Brzezinski served as interim general manager after the firing. ESPN reported that Brzezinski will remain with the Vikings as executive vice president of football operations. Brzezinski has worked for the Vikings since 1999.
"Vikings co-owner Mark Wilf said Teasley has a strong background in talent evaluation and roster building. " ESPN reported that the Wilfs viewed Teasley, coach Kevin O'Connell and Brzezinski as a leadership team. Teasley will be the Vikings' primary decision-maker.
Five finalists were considered for the position. The other candidates were Brzezinski, Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Terrance Gray, Denver Broncos assistant general manager Reed Burckhardt and Los Angeles Rams assistant general manager John McKay.
The Seahawks will receive third-round compensatory picks in each of the next two NFL drafts under the Rooney Rule.
