More than 400 people were arrested after a large crowd gathered in Newport Beach, California, on July 4, 2025, the New York Post reported. Youths and minors made up the majority of those taken into custody, and nearly half of the arrested individuals were from out of state. Orange County resident Cassandra Torres said she was riding an e-bike with friends when the crowd separated them.
She was knocked to the ground, lost consciousness, and suffered a concussion along with head and neck injuries plus multiple cuts. Torres was treated at a hospital while wearing a neck brace and said she had never seen a facility that busy. Torres posted a video on Instagram warning of another planned Beach Bash takeover at Huntington Beach.
Huntington Beach officials stated they are aware of the planned event and have warned organizers they have no intention of allowing it. The Huntington Beach Police Department said officers are coordinating with regional partners and will be prepared, noting that similar events have involved violence, vandalism, assaults, thefts, and other criminal activity.
The department added that its Special Investigations Bureau has identified individuals believed to be involved in organizing and promoting the event, with investigations ongoing.
